Students at Jesse D. Lay Elementary will soon be all smiles while watching the performing arts thanks to a grant from Delta Dental.
The Fund for the Arts and Dental Dental’s Making Smiles Happen have announced that Lay is the recipient of a $998 grant to enhance students arts in education experiences.
The Squallis Puppeteers will be performing soon for students at Lay. Squallis Puppeteers is a collective of local artists and performers dedicated to the handmade and the homespun. They have been making puppets, performing, and teaching children (and adults) in Louisville, Kentucky since 1997.
“We help kids and adults imagine what is possible, create new worlds, and uncover the stories we all have to tell”, according to their website . “Our puppets are handmade using everyday materials, demonstrating that creativity and innovation are always within reach.”
