Our district provides an online version of our policy/procedure manual. Please note, this is not an official copy of the school board’s policy/procedure manual because these documents might not yet contain the most recent changes approved by the Knox County Board of Education.
Adoption of new Policies and Procedures
Throughout the school year the Knox County Board of Education adopts new policies and amends current ones as recommended by the Kentucky School Boards Association and our district’s Policy and Governance Committee.
Any questions or requests for further interpretation of our student handbook may be directed to the school principal and/or the Superintendent’s Office. Questions concerning employee handbooks and policies/procedures should be directed to the Superintendent’s Office.
Please note that our handbooks are subject to revision by the Knox County School District’s Student Code of Conduct & Attendance Handbook and Employee Handbook Committee, Policy and Governance Committee, and the Knox County Board of Education. An addenda may be issued during the year.

Communication of Policy Changes
Once a policy or procedure has been adopted by the Board of Education, employees will be notified of the change via e-mail and printed copy sent to their school for posting. If the change involves or directly impacts students, the policy change will be communicated via the school district website and if needed, local news media.
Significant changes to student and/or employee policies and procedures may warrant the distribution of an addenda to our current year handbooks.
